Turning the European Green Hydrogen Dream into Reality: A Call to Action

In 2019 BCG stated that Green hydrogen is a critical element to achieving net-zero emissions. Low-carbon hydrogen and associated synthetic fuels like methanol and ammonia are indispensable to decarbonizing large sectors of the global economy.

While a broader range of low-carbon hydrogen colors will be needed during the decarbonization journey, a fossil-free target state will require green hydrogen. To be able to enable the continent’s ambitious climate targets, Europe’s green hydrogen market finally needs to scale within this decade.
